I agree with the placement of the lightning and I would say, I would have lighten up the clouds on that area and make a bigger lightning on the left focal point. Perspective is also not right for the river. This is a common mistake where most of the time rivers looks like they are going up hill due to wrong perspective. You can also add atmospheric depth to make distance more understandable. Or you can add some blurred bushes, branches in foreground to give a better feeling of distance. Other than these, this is really a nice piece, loved it!
